A Hindu Woman has been elected to Pakistan Senate

As per the report in Dawn (a newspaper based in Pakistan), Krishna Kumari Kohli has been elected to the Pakistan Senate. She was elected from as seat reserved for woman in Sindh as a candidate for Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) which is lead by Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. This is a historic first for a Hindu woman.

She is a right activists belonging to the Kohli community based in remote village of Dhana Gam in Nagarparkar.
KohliCo, 39, had joined the PPP as a social activist along with her brother, who was later elected as Chairman of Union Council Bernao.
Pakistan's ruling PML-N of ousted prime minster Nawaz Sharif has won 15 seats in Senate and has become the largest party in the upper house of the parliament.
